Publishing and sharing

Publishing turns your private cataloging work into part of your Akurium showcase. You control visibility at both the collection and item level, so you can share an entire collection while keeping unfinished or personal items out of view.

Collections and items offer four visibility settings:

  • Published — visible to other people and eligible to appear on your public profile and elsewhere on Akurium.
  • Draft — a work in progress that only you can see while signed in.
  • Private — kept for your own viewing on plans that support private collections.
  • Archived — retained in your account but removed from your active public material.

New collections and items default to Published. Choose another setting before saving if the content is not ready to share.

How collection and item visibility work together

Section titled “How collection and item visibility work together”

A collection acts as the outer visibility gate for everything inside it. An item is publicly visible only when:

  1. The collection is Published.
  2. The item is also Published.

This gives you several useful options:

  • Publish a collection while keeping unfinished items as drafts.
  • Prepare all of a collection’s items, then publish the collection when the whole presentation is ready.
  • Temporarily hide an entire collection without changing every item inside it.
  • Archive material you want to retain without actively displaying it.

Open Manage Your Collections, select the collection, and set Visibility to Published. Review its name, description, cover image, and visible items, then select Save Changes.

Once published, the collection can appear:

  • On your public profile
  • In your public collection and theme views
  • In relevant Explore results
  • In links shared directly with other people

Only published items appear to visitors on the collection page.

Open the collection, select Edit beside the item, and change its Visibility.

Before publishing, review:

  • The title and description
  • Gallery images and their order
  • Additional notes and attributes
  • Video, if present
  • The required All Audiences or Mature Audiences selection

Select Save Changes when the item is ready. Use View Item to inspect its page. When viewing an unpublished item while signed in as its owner, Akurium displays a warning that other people cannot see it.

Changing a published item to draft, private, or archived removes it from public view. Its old shared link will no longer work for other visitors unless the item is published again inside a published collection.

Every public profile, published collection, and published item has its own page and link.

Your public profile address follows this pattern:

akurium.com/@yourusername

On a public page, select Share this page. On devices that support a system sharing menu, Akurium opens it so you can choose an app or recipient. Otherwise, Akurium copies the page link to your clipboard.

You can also copy the address directly from your browser and paste it into a message, post, email, or anywhere else you want to share it.

A shared collection or item link is available to other people only while the content remains published. Changing your username also changes the visible profile address, although Akurium may redirect older username links to the new one.

Before sharing widely, open the public page and confirm that its images, text, visibility, and audience setting look the way you intend.

Published items marked for Mature Audiences can still be shared. Akurium identifies them as mature and may blur their media or show an interstitial until the viewer chooses to reveal the content.

The audience setting does not replace visibility: a mature item must still be published inside a published collection before anyone else can open it.
