Plans and billing
Akurium includes a free plan for getting started and paid plans for larger collections and additional features. You can begin for free, then subscribe when you need more room or capabilities.
Compare plan limits
Section titled “Compare plan limits”The current collection, item, and image limits are:
| Plan | Collections | Items across your account | Images per item |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | 8 | 3 |
| Hobbyist | 4 | 30 | 5 |
| Collector | 8 | 70 | 10 |
| Archivist | Unlimited | Unlimited | 20 |
Collection and item limits count all records in your account, including material that is not published. The image limit applies separately to each item.
Paid plans also add features. For example, commenting begins with Hobbyist, while Collector adds capabilities such as private collections, video embeds, and importing. Visit Plans for the current feature comparison and pricing.
Check your current usage
Section titled “Check your current usage”Open your account menu and select Dashboard View. The dashboard shows:
- Your current plan
- Collections used and allowed
- Items used and allowed
- A warning when you are approaching a limit
The item count is shared across all of your collections. Moving an item to another collection does not reduce your total usage.
When you reach a limit, Akurium keeps your existing material but prevents you from adding more of that type until you free space or upgrade.
Choose monthly or yearly billing
Section titled “Choose monthly or yearly billing”Open Plans from the main navigation. Use the Monthly and Yearly controls to compare billing periods, then choose the plan you want.
Monthly subscriptions renew each month. Yearly subscriptions are charged for a year at a time and may offer a lower total price. The Plans page shows the current price and savings before you continue.
Paid checkout is handled securely by Stripe. Review the selected plan, billing period, price, and payment information on the Stripe checkout page before confirming.
If you leave or cancel checkout before completing payment, your plan does not change.
Upgrade or switch plans
Section titled “Upgrade or switch plans”You can compare plans at any time from the Plans page. Select the upgrade or switch option associated with the plan you want, then review the change in Stripe before confirming it.
After a successful checkout, Akurium returns you to a confirmation page. Subscription updates can take a short moment to synchronize; refresh the dashboard if your new plan is not displayed immediately.
Manage your subscription
Section titled “Manage your subscription”From Dashboard View, select Manage subscription. Akurium opens Stripe’s billing portal, where the available controls may include:
- Updating your payment method
- Viewing invoices and billing history
- Changing your subscription
- Scheduling cancellation
The exact controls shown are managed through Stripe and may vary according to the current subscription state.
Cancel or resume a subscription
Section titled “Cancel or resume a subscription”When you schedule cancellation, your paid plan remains active through the end of its current billing period. The dashboard displays the date and time when the subscription will expire.
Before that date, select Resume subscription on the dashboard if you change your mind. Confirming the resume action keeps the current plan active and allows future renewals to continue using the existing payment method.
After the paid period ends, your account returns to the limits and capabilities of the Free plan.
What happens when your limits decrease
Section titled “What happens when your limits decrease”Changing to a lower plan does not automatically delete your existing collections, items, or images. However, being above the new limits affects what you can do next:
- You cannot create another collection until your collection count is below the new limit or you upgrade.
- You cannot add another item until your total item count is below the new limit or you upgrade.
- You may be unable to publish another collection when the new published-collection allowance is already full.
- If an existing item has more images than the new per-item limit, you may need to remove excess images before saving further edits to that item.
- Features that belong to the former plan may no longer be available after the paid period ends.
Your published material is not automatically erased merely because a subscription ends. Visibility and access can still be affected by the lower plan’s limits and available features.
